I have a small accounting firm.
I currently have 8 AT&T854 and 954 phone system. It works well, but I need to add a voice mail and music on hold. Will the Pansonic KSTV550 phone voice mail system or the Nortel Call Pilot work. Is somthing better.

What you have are 4-line consumer phones that do not allow the use of a proprietary voicemail. In order to use the Panasonic voicemail you mention or the call pilot, you will need to purchase a Panasonic PBX or a Nortel Norstar complete phone system. Also, if you have a Panasonic PBX, you need
a Panasonic voicemail. There is no intercompatibility between PBX phone systems. If you have a particular phone system, you need the voicemail made for that system, which will be from the same manufacturer.

The most you can do with your 4-line phones is get a general voicemail box with your phone company.

A new PBX phone system will allow more scalibility in lines and stations, in addition to the benefits of automated attendant, voicemail, computer telephony integration, and much more.
