I am looking at buying a new phone for my parents for Christmas. They have never updated from their old rotary system. I am looking at the GE-25825GE3 5.8 Ghz because of the expansion features. In looking at the spec sheet it doesn't mention if it's rotary compatible. I know that I'm talking about pre-historic technology. They're currently using cordless phones that all feature the switch for tone or rotary, but I'm not sure if all phones still offer that backwards capability. |

That GE phone was just recently discontinued. But most phones do still support old rotary telephone networks. that's the little 'tone/pulse' switch on most phones. More advanced phones usually have this setting in their digital menus. Most the other phones on our 5.8 GHz page have tone/pulse settings http://www.evaluezone.com/singlelineexpandablecordlessphonesystems-5-8-ghz-single-line-expandable-cordless-phone-systems.html
If you're curious about whether a specific phone has a pulse setting, search its user manual for the word 'pulse' (the manual should be posted on our site). If you can't find the manual or have other questions, feel free to give me a buzz. |
